The working principle of the coating machine scraper system is to evenly scrape the coating on the substrate through the scraper to control the thickness and uniformity of the coating.
1. Scraper angle adjustment
Determine the purpose of adjustment:
The adjustment of the scraper angle is mainly to control the leveling of the coating on the substrate and the coating thickness. Different angles will affect the contact area between the scraper and the substrate and the shear force of the coating, thereby changing the quality of the coating.
For example, a smaller scraper angle may result in a thicker coating but better leveling; while a larger scraper angle may result in a thinner coating but may result in poor leveling.
Adjustment method:
Manual adjustment: For some small coating machines or simple scraper systems, the scraper angle can be changed by manually rotating the adjustment screw on the scraper seat. This method is simple to operate, but the adjustment accuracy may be low.
Electric adjustment: Some high-end coating machines are equipped with electric scraper angle adjustment devices, which can accurately adjust the scraper angle through buttons or knobs on the control panel. This method has high adjustment accuracy and is easy to operate, but the cost is high.
Reference to experience value: When adjusting the scraper angle, you can refer to the experience value provided by the equipment manufacturer or adjust it according to previous production experience. Generally speaking, the scraper angle is more common between 30° and 60°, but the specific angle should be adjusted according to factors such as coating characteristics, substrate material and thickness, and coating requirements.
2. Scraper pressure adjustment
Determine the purpose of adjustment:
The adjustment of scraper pressure is mainly to control the thickness and uniformity of the coating. Appropriate pressure can keep good contact between the scraper and the substrate to ensure that the coating can be evenly scraped on the substrate.
Excessive pressure may cause increased scraper wear, deformation of the substrate or too thin coating; while too little pressure may cause uneven coating, unstable thickness and other problems.
Adjustment method:
Pneumatic adjustment: Many coating machines use pneumatic systems to adjust the scraper pressure. By adjusting the air pressure regulating valve, the pressure of the scraper on the substrate can be changed. This method is easy to adjust and has stable pressure, but it needs to be equipped with air source and pneumatic components.
Hydraulic adjustment: Some large coating machines may use hydraulic systems to adjust the scraper pressure. The hydraulic system can provide a larger pressure range and higher adjustment accuracy, but the cost is high and the maintenance is relatively complicated.
Manual adjustment: For some small coating machines or simple scraper systems, the scraper pressure can be changed by manually rotating the pressure adjustment screw on the scraper seat. This method is simple to operate, but the adjustment accuracy and stability may be low.
Online monitoring and adjustment: Some advanced coating machines are equipped with online monitoring systems that can monitor the coating thickness and uniformity in real time, and automatically adjust the scraper pressure according to the monitoring results. This method can achieve precise pressure control and improve coating quality and production efficiency.
